Identity verification & KYC, built for the UK

Most identity vendors are global platforms with UK compliance bolted on. Zanyara is UK-hosted by default: ICO-registered, UK data residency, and mapped to the frameworks British regulators and auditors actually ask about — GPG 45, the AML rules, and the UK’s new digital-identity trust framework.

UK data protection, by default

Zanyara is registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office and processes applicant data with UK data residency under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For most verification data we act as your processor: configurable retention, right-to-erasure workflows, consent capture, and a clear data-flow you can put in a DPIA. No transfer of identity documents and selfies to another region as an unavoidable default.

The UK documents your applicants actually hold

  • UK and international passports — including NFC/eMRTD chip reading with server-side passive authentication.
  • UK driving licences and national ID cards.
  • Biometric residence permits (BRPs) — MRZ and chip where present.
  • Face match + active and passive liveness to bind the document to a real, present person.

AML (MLR 2017)

Sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening with ongoing monitoring, plus human review for edge cases.

DVS trust framework

Straight talk on certificationCertified Right to Work, Right to Rent and DBS digital identity checks legally require a provider that is certified against the trust framework and listed on the OfDIA register. Zanyara is pursuing that certification and is not yet listed — we’ll always be explicit about where we are. If you need a certified provider today, use one on the OfDIA register.

Frequently asked questions

Is Zanyara UK-hosted, and is my data kept in the UK?
Yes. Zanyara is UK ICO-registered and runs with UK data residency, so applicant document and biometric data is processed and stored in the UK/EU rather than shipped to another region. We support retention controls and right-to-erasure so you can meet your obligations under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Is Zanyara certified under the UK DVS trust framework (DIATF)?
Not yet — and we won’t imply otherwise. To deliver certified Right to Work, Right to Rent or DBS digital identity checks, a provider must be certified and listed on the OfDIA register of digital verification services. Zanyara is pursuing certification under the DVS trust framework (formerly the DIATF); we are not certified or registered today. See our DVS/DIATF certification explainer.
Which UK identity documents can you verify?
UK and international passports, national identity cards, UK driving licences and biometric residence permits (BRPs) — with NFC/eMRTD chip reading where the document supports it, plus face match and liveness to bind the document to the person.
How does Zanyara relate to GPG 45?
GPG 45 is the UK government’s guide for proving and verifying identity. Zanyara’s checks map onto its five elements — evidence strength and validity (document + chip), activity and fraud signals (AML and device intelligence), and verification (face match + liveness). See GPG 45 explained.
