Proof of address verification

Many regulated flows need more than an identity — they need evidence of where the person lives. Zanyara extracts the name, address and issue date from a proof-of-address document, checks it is recent enough, and matches the name to the identity you have already verified, so the address is tied to the right person.

What Zanyara checks

  • Extraction: name, address and issue date are read from the document (utility bill, bank statement, government letter and similar).
  • Recency: the issue date is checked against the rule you set — for example, issued within the last three months.
  • Name match: the extracted name is matched to the identity already verified in the check, so the proof belongs to the same person.
  • Integrity: document signals help surface alterations rather than trusting a single read.

Fits your workflow

Proof of address runs as a step within a Zanyara check, so the address evidence sits alongside the identity and biometric results in one decision and one audit trail. Results are delivered by webhook and in the console the moment they land, so you can gate onboarding on the full picture rather than chasing documents by email.

Frequently asked questions

What documents count as proof of address?
Typically recent utility bills, bank or credit-card statements, council-tax or government letters — documents that carry the person’s name, their address and a recent issue date. Which types you accept, and how recent they must be, is your policy; Zanyara extracts and checks the fields so you can enforce it.
How do you know the address belongs to the person being verified?
Zanyara extracts the name and address from the document and matches the name against the identity you have already verified, so the proof of address is tied to the same person rather than checked in isolation.
How is a stale or edited document caught?
The issue date is extracted and checked against your recency rule (for example within the last three months), and document integrity signals help flag alterations. As with identity documents, a clear pass / refer / fail outcome is returned with the reasons attached.
